ANAI Board of Directors appoints Jason Blomquist to fill unexpired Director term

At its August meeting, the ANAI board of directors accepted the resignation of Susan Tavernier, PhD, APRN-CNS, AOCN, from the Director at Large position two role. Dr. Tavernier is relocating out of Idaho and leaving her faculty position at ISU. Her unexpired term has 12 months remaining.
Jason K. Blomquist, MAOL, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, is an innovative leader and educator with a passion for developing, supporting, and empowering teams of healthcare professionals. With a focus on operational effectiveness, change management, quality assurance, and program development in healthcare delivery, he is excited to push the boundaries of nursing education while exploring new technologies, intellectual virtues, and compassionate teaching. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice at Boise State University, with an anticipated completion date in 2025, and holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Idaho State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and History from Oberlin College.
Professionally, Blomquist has served his 12-year nursing career at St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho, holding positions ranging from Telemetry RN to Director of Nursing for Virtual Care. Transitioning to academia in 2021, he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Boise State University School of Nursing, where he teaches subjects spanning leadership, basic skills, informatics, and simulation-based learning. Blending scholarship with clinical practice, Blomquist continues to work part-time at the bedside while teaching, pursuing an advanced degree, and advocating for the well-being of nurses across Idaho.
