ASKING YOU to JOIN and SUPPORT the Nursing Association

We are writing to ask you, as nurses who follow this website and the happening about nursing in Idaho, to become an active member of the Nursing Association.   

There are 18,650 RNs in Idaho and only about 750 are members of the nursing association.  The annual membership fee includes both membership in the American Nurses Association and the Idaho association.  Membership at the state level is also open to LPNs.

Membership dues at $175 annually and can be paid at $15 monthly with auto pay.  $100 goes to the national association and $75 comes to Idaho.

Membership money goes to support many activities:

1.  Statewide representation of nursing as ANA is the official nursing representative organization for all nurses in every state, and ANA-Idaho is in our state.

2.  Maintains lobbyist support that identifies and speaks for or coordinated nurses to speak to the Idaho Legislature on issues that affect the profession and patients.

3.  Supports the recognition and marketing of nursing issues and nurses.

4. Communicates will all licensed nurses through RN IDAHO, the Nursing Flash that is published every Tuesday and through the website and its associated main system.

5. Supports nursing scholarships and supports nursing student activities and the student association.

6.  Offers an annual clinical conference (LEAP) and members get significant registration discounts.

We realize that paying dues is a difficult decision for some, especially when there are so many competitive demands on our time and resources.  But, if you can manage $15 a month to support the profession, this is a good investment that has yielded many benefits to nurses in Idaho.  One example of this is that for more than 1 year ANAI worked with the Idaho Board of Nursing to revise their nursing regulation rules.  We successfully worked to remove the CE requirement for license renewal, which was successfully removed this year.
