Nurse Recognition Gala Dinner
Tuesday, November 1, 2022
6:15-10PM
Grove Hotel Ballroom, Boise
It has been two years since Idaho had a statewide recognition of nurses. The impact of the COVID pandemic and the avoidance of group gatherings prevented a statewide recognition event. We are seeing significant changes for nursing in Idaho, but overall public support and regard for nurses remains high with nursing continually recognized as the “Most Trusted Profession” both in Idaho and nationally. Nursing schools report multiple applicants for each admission opening and more nurses are licensed in Idaho than ever. All that is good news, but due to the increasing demand for nurses, Idaho’s ongoing population increase statewide, and the large number of pending retirements of our current nursing workforce, we face challenges having sufficient numbers of working nurses.
To elevate public awareness about nurses’ contributions and to recognize the many nurses who have contributed, each organization is invited to recognize their own nurses to be honored at the dinner. These nurses’ data will be presented in a slide show and a general recognition at the event.
The underlying theme of the recognition dinner is “Nurses Who Make a Difference.”
Agencies that employ nurses are encouraged to recognize nurses in the categories that apply to their settings. Recognitions can be, but are not limited to, (1) Daisy Award recipients, (2) Inspiring Educators and Preceptors, (3) Outstanding Nurse Leaders, (4) Innovators, (5) Outstanding Clinicians and (6) Mentors. Organizations can also recognize other nurses who have received awards or certifications.
Proceeds from this dinner event support the Idaho Nursing Education Fund at the Idaho Center for Nursing. This Fund supports continuing education and scholarship for nurses. To date, Idaho nurses themselves have been the primary supporters of the Idaho Nursing Education Fund, contributing over $175,000.00 dollars to help fellow nurses.
Today, the Idaho Nurses Education Fund is focused on assisting nurses who work in Idaho to obtain approved continuing nursing education (CNE) credit hours through Idaho based programs. Each year a designated amount of money is allocated in the budget based on funds acquired the previous year through donations, investment income, grants and funds generated at the annual Nurse Recognition Event. Information about the Fund is available at: Today's Idaho Nurses Education Fund | Idaho Center for Nursing | Nursing Network
The NLI Celebration Event team is asking all agencies that employ nurses to consider a table sponsorship or supporting their staff to attend. All but $35 per person is a tax-deductible expense as a contribution to the IALN Nurse Education fund [501( c )3].
The cost options for the event are:
- Table of 10= $1,000.00 (20 total tables are available)
- Second and subsequent tables of 10 for the same organization = $900.00
- Individual Nurses = $65
- Individual Nurses with plus one (2 tickets) = $110
- Individual (Non-nurse) Family and friends = $75
We look forward to your participation and the recognition of nurses from your organization. Information on how to submit specific nurse recognition information for presentation at the event will be sent to all registered sponsors of tables and to individual nurses and sponsors.
Sincerely,
Claudia Miewald, DNP, APRN-CNS, Event Chairperson
